Speech Therapy
When many people think about speech therapists, or Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), they usually think of someone who helps people speak better. While it’s true that they do help people with speech difficulties, that’s just one of the ways speech therapists help people. Our SLPs also help seniors to improve problems with language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. SLPs use a wide variety of treatment techniques to improve comprehension skills, memory, and problem solving. Their treatment plans often include compensatory strategies, strengthening of weak oral muscles, and caregiver training, to optimize communication, maximize independence and ensure proper nutrition.
