Our Story

Founder, AgeWell Rehab & Fitness

AgeWell Rehab & Fitness was founded by Bill Ivey in 2015. Bill has over 26 years of experience as a physical therapist, and for the last 16 years he has been working exclusively with seniors. Once he started working with seniors, Bill quickly realized he wanted to devote his career to this special generation. But it wasn’t until years later, after working for several major senior rehab companies, that Bill also realized the current senior rehab delivery system was very flawed.
Not only was patient care typically being driven by patient quotas and billing productivity minimums, rather than patient needs, but the rate of therapist turnover was extremely high due to the resulting frustration, pressure, and lack of autonomy felt by many therapists in the industry.
Bill knew there was a better way to treat America’s “Greatest Generation”, and he sought to form a company that would do just that. The company would ensure that seniors receive the best care possible and would ensure that patient care decisions are made according to the therapists’ clinical expertise instead of daily quotas and billable hours.
After prayerful consideration and much discussion with his wife and family, Bill took out a second mortgage on their home and AgeWell Rehab & Fitness was formed.
Today, AgeWell Rehab & Fitness provides onsite rehabilitation in senior living communities throughout metro Atlanta. We specialize in the specific needs of seniors, and develop customized 1:1 treatment plans to help seniors achieve and maintain their highest level of functional ability to live life to its fullest.
